Another one out the door—

Andy beside his KG

In the midst of 2020, we were approached by Andy in his bid to purchase his dream car. A 1970 Karmann Ghia in red and off-white with fresh interior, fresh body work, and a built-in radio.

He gave us the task of sourcing, importing, and recommissioning a Karmann Ghia for him. He had some specifications that he wanted it built to. After a year or so of hard work, the car has been united with him.

Subsequently, our mechanics, fabricators, and body specialists all worked incredibly hard with meticulous attention to detail to bring Andy’s vision to life.

And he left us some lovely words about the experience –

From, Andy Strangeway –

In 2020 I asked Pete to source, import and recommission a KG for me.

From the very start Pete has gone above and beyond to keep me informed of my KG’s progress.

At each stage of its recommission, Pete has provided invaluable advice and guidance about the work, the parts used as well as why any specific piece of work needs to be done.

With this expert advice, guidance and support from Pete I’ve then been able to make informed decisions at each stage of its recommissioning

Pete’s approach has made me feel fully involved in the whole process from the very first phone call to the moment my KG arrived at my door .

This support has been matched by a meticulous attention to detail in my KG’s recommissioning, shown by the quality of the workmanship of Pete, Will, and the rest of the team as being truly outstanding.

I can’t begin to thank Pete and his team enough  for giving me the KG I have always wanted.

I would without question recommend to anyone who is looking to source, restore, repair or find parts for a KG that Californian Classics is the place you have to go to.
