With planning beginning in 1950, followed by approval of the sleek design of Ghia’s Luigi Segre, Volkswagen had the desire to produce a sports-style car upon a reliable floor. By 1954 a supply of chassis was made available to the Karmann factory in Osnabruck, the Karmann Ghia was born.
In 1969, the Karmann Ghia was named one of the most beautifully designed products in the world, and it’s great to see that that still holds up for many people today!
